Strengthening Education Through Emotional Intelligence and Collaboration
In Spain, Iniciativa Internacional Joven (IIJ) recently met with Federico Lang from Librería Luces (@librerialuces) to share ideas and perspectives on how to foster emotional intelligence, inclusion, and well-being in education.
At the center of the exchange was the Emotional Intelligence Approach on Teaching Methods project, coordinated by IIJ and co-financed by the European Union. This initiative brings together secondary school teachers from across Europe to integrate emotional intelligence into their teaching practices. By combining innovative methodologies, intercultural cooperation, and shared professional experiences, the project aims to equip educators with new tools to face today’s educational challenges and to create healthier, more supportive learning environments.
The meeting also reflected on how literature, art, and critical thinking can contribute to these goals, strengthening schools as spaces where both teachers and students feel empowered and supported.
We thank Federico and the Librería Luces team for their warm welcome and their commitment to educational and social transformation.
