Multiplier Event in Palermo: Sharing an Emotional Intelligence Approach with Secondary School Teachers
On 15 September 2026, the Multiplier Event of the Erasmus+ project Emotional Intelligence Approach on Teaching Methods was held at the Liceo Linguistico Statale “Ninni Cassarà” in Palermo, Italy, bringing together 66 secondary school teachers from the Palermo area.
The event provided an opportunity to disseminate the project’s main results and outputs and to promote reflection on the role of Emotional Intelligence in teaching and learning processes. The meeting opened with a questionnaire designed to collect teachers’ views, experiences and perceptions regarding the use of Emotional Intelligence in the classroom, creating a starting point for discussion and exchange.
Teachers involved in the project also shared their experiences and presented their contribution to the development and implementation of the materials included in the Methodological Guide. Their testimonies offered a practical perspective on how an emotional intelligence-based approach can be integrated into everyday teaching practices across different subjects and educational contexts.
Particular attention was given to the added value of addressing students’ emotional dimension alongside academic learning, as well as to the importance of making this approach increasingly shared among secondary school teachers. The discussion highlighted the potential of Emotional Intelligence to support students’ wellbeing, participation and social-emotional development while enriching teachers’ methodological practices.
